The 103 hectares occupied by La Carlota airport fulfilled the objective in the recent past, but it is evident that the dynamics of metropolitan Caracas in the third millennium make it necessary to rethink its use, conditions for its development and, above all, its insertion into the urban fabric. The guideline is established by the Caracas Metropolitana 2020 strategic plan, which proposes the achievement of a sustainable, safe and delivered environmental city, where La Carlota becomes the fundamental piece of the public space system.

BIO-CYCLICAL MODULE

Modular sectioned. Conceptual multifunctional.

Kuva5.jpg

The distribution in paired modules, allows to privatize the blocks with rounded volumes to the road access of the adjoining blocks that contrast with the semantics of the north facade, the perforation of the core and the concept windows, allows a natural lighting 14 hours per day. Inside, the linear route takes us from the common spaces that are articulated around the core of natural light.

The location favors cross ventilation, supported by the construction system formed by thick thermally well insulated load-bearing walls, which considerably reduce energy costs.

For the layout of the rooms, mixed-use buildings and recreational areas, we took into consideration the possible visuals to be taken advantage of on the site, densification, roads, parking spaces and the percentage of remaining green area; giving this last variable great relevance, since the complex is located in an area of great importance and potential for ecotourism.

Kuva30.png

This modality allows us to optimize spaces in reduced areas, combining the location of the rooms or suites we get to give a unique space in the distribution of the same.  By pairing the 40 M2 models we reduce the cost of materials and finishes.
